Aloe barbadensis Miller (aloe vera)

Aloe barbadensis Miller, commonly known as aloe vera, is a succulent plant native to arid, tropical, and subtropical regions, particularly regions of Northern Africa. Aloe has a slightly bitter, mucilaginous taste.
Medicinally, aloe is known for its wound-healing, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties, attributed to its rich composition of polysaccharides, anthraquinones, & vitamins. One of its most notable compounds, acemannan, helps to support immune function and enhance tissue repair. It is commonly used for burns, skin irritations, immune support, and digestive health (eg. for relieving constipation).  Historically, aloe was revered by ancient Egyptians, who called it the “plant of immortality” and used it in embalming practices. An experimental research study
PMID: 25003428 concluded that the topical application of Aloe vera can significantly accelerate our wound healing by increasing collagen content.
