Centella asiatica, commonly known as gotu kola, is a perennial herb native to tropical and subtropical regions of Asia. Traditionally, it has been used in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and wound-healing properties. This plant contains notable chemical constituents such as asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid, and madecassic acid, which contribute to its therapeutic effects.
